Solo
There are times when riding is best done in a group.
The chat, the relaxed coffee before the ride, the friendly rivalry to crest the climb first, the wild fluctuations in pace broadly in line with street signs, the affirmation that cycling is a joy best shared. Today isn't one of those times. Today it has to hurt and that is best done away from others. To reflect the sentiments of the etching adorning the stem cap, "The only person who gets to kill you, is me". Sunday is the day when the pedal hits the floor again.
