Review by Paddy:
Now a few years ago I had I Giant Bicycles sponsorship and the only thing I can remember about the bike I was supplied is how much I loved the saddle, it was an Anthem X-0 and came factory fitted with a WTB Silverado saddle.
Much to my delight WTB got on board with sponsorship for this year and jumped at the opportunity to be reunited with my much loved perch. I can’t pinpoint what it is exactly; it feels a bit hard at 1st but as soon as it softens up comfort becomes the key factor. I a believer that a saddle should be sat on and not in!
The Silverado is super light, a mere 210g as tested and comfort is not sacrificed considering it’s slenderness, on a climb I like to rest on the nose of the saddle rather than standing and anyone who owns a Selle Italia SLR like I had on my bike before this knows that is not the most comfortable place to be. ‘The Silverado’s long, flat shape enables riders to utilize more of the nose while climbing’ as it says in their catalogue and it is true to its word, I guess a lot of thought has gone into this section for riders like me. I know a lot of Downhillers that swear by this saddle too so I know it can handle a lot of abuse.
The V groove section, I believe they call it the ‘Love Channel’ (nice and catchy) is in my opinion a bit of a Specialized BG copy, but they spent a load of money researching it and it works, relieving pressure and maximizes blood flow around that very sensitive area which the end result is a very comfortable race saddle.
A very over looked and comfortable perch for any rider! £54.99 is a bargain, half the price of anything near its quality!

Review by Oli:
Since it’s arrival it’s been sitting on my desk taunting me. It’ll be the perch that goes on the new KM810 build and until the final parts for that arrive, it shall sit and taunt me some more. The Muc Off 8 will be it’s first proper test, so I’ll report back soon after.
Initial impressions are that the surface looks very resilient and will probably take all sorts of abuse, especially on the rear corners where it’s reinforced. It also offers 3 partial cut-aways on the underside to help ease pressure on the ‘vital bits’ and ‘arse bones’. If this is like the Rocket V and Pure V I have used before, this should be super comfy. Looking forward to trying this longer saddle though and see how it helps those sit down singlespeed climbs.

What they say:
The Silverado’s long, flat shape enables riders to utilize more of the nose while climbing, while the square profile distributes more weight onto the sit bones. The Silverado is the official saddle of ten-time DH world champion Nicolas Vouilloz.
Love Channel™:
Found on all WTB saddles, the Love Channel has one very important task: protect your body from unwanted pressures. Unlike other more radical approaches, this central depression provides soft-tissue relief without sacrificing the design integrity of the saddle.

NiCro Tubular:
A 7mm hollow alloy rail material that is as light as titanium at a more economical cost. NiCro Tubular has a distinctive golden-silver tint and is found on some of our best models.
